Our Story

Hello and welcome to Oh Sugar!

We're Bianca and Corey, the faces behind Oh Sugar. For many years, Corey has dreamed of owning his own business, and Oh Sugar is the first step towards turning that dream into reality. Our goal is to eventually operate a small mobile pop-up café, bringing delicious homemade treats to communities across Tasmania.

Meet Corey

Corey brings nearly 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having worked in a wide range of venues from busy cafés to high-end restaurants. His passion for desserts and sweet treats began early, starting his chef apprenticeship before turning 18 and becoming fully qualified by the age of 21.

Over the years, Corey has had the privilege of learning from talented head chefs and working alongside incredible kitchen teams, gaining valuable skills and experience along the way.

In 2021, Corey expanded his expertise by undertaking a second apprenticeship in patisserie. This experience further fuelled his passion for baking and gave him the opportunity to develop new skills in creating cakes, pastries, desserts, and other sweet creations.

Meet Bianca

Bianca brings over 6 years of experience in retail and customer service, making her an essential part of the Oh Sugar team. While Corey is busy creating delicious treats in the kitchen, Bianca works behind the scenes ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

From helping organise the business to providing creative ideas and feedback, Bianca plays a key role in every aspect of Oh Sugar. She has even given herself the unofficial title of Chief Taste Tester, making sure every new creation meets the high standards we want to share with our customers.

As Oh Sugar continues to grow and moves closer to our dream of operating a mobile pop-up café, Bianca is excited to step into a more customer-facing role. With her bright smile, bubbly personality, and passion for connecting with people, she looks forward to serving our wonderful customers and helping create a welcoming experience wherever Oh Sugar goes.

The Birth of Oh Sugar

In 2025, with plenty of encouragement from Bianca, Corey decided it was time to take a leap of faith and bring his dream to life. That's how Oh Sugar was born — a small home-based bakery dedicated to creating high-quality sweet treats made fresh to order.

At Oh Sugar, we love combining classic favourites with exciting flavour combinations. Bianca plays a huge role in helping develop new ideas and unique flavour pairings, ensuring there's always something special to discover.

Every product is carefully handcrafted using quality ingredients and beautifully presented because we believe desserts should look just as amazing as they taste.

Today, our products are available online and can also be found at Syd's IGA in Shorewell Plaza, Burnie. We're also excited to begin attending local markets and events as we continue to grow.
